Overview

Dyad is a free, open-source AI app builder that runs on your own machine. You describe what you want in chat and Dyad writes a real app — standard TypeScript and SQL, saved to a local folder, using whichever AI model you prefer.

Building locally is fast, but an app still needs somewhere for its data and its users to live. Connecting Supabase gives your Dyad app that backend in a couple of minutes. Authorize the Supabase organization you want to use, choose a project for the app, and start chatting about backend features. Your access token is stored locally on your own computer.

From there, Dyad handles auth, database, and server functions through Supabase. Ask it to add email and password sign-in, create tables, write Row Level Security policies, or deploy an Edge Function, and it generates the code using the official Supabase client libraries — no proprietary abstraction layer in between. You can connect more than one Supabase account and switch between them, and work across Supabase branches to keep preview and production separate. Because the output is ordinary code against your own Supabase project, both keep working whether or not you keep using Dyad.
